WOW! What a great looking mic. I almost just want
to put it on display. It
has surpassed my expectations in everyway. Am dying to play
this mic and
also hear my new amp as well. Should happen in the next couple
of hours.
and ......
Just sat down I played this mic finally. Great tone! Will
definitely send the green bullet for the upgrade.

I've been a client of DJ's for quite a few years. It started
with a pig tail
mod on my beloved 707a (the one with the black label CR that is
my "go to"
mic). He then did me a sweet JT30 with an MC127 ceramic
and followed that with putting another black label CR I had into
a custom green JT30 shell,
with some cool features (metallic grill cloth, ten detent VC).
So after a
small break in programming, I started to get that itch that meant
I needed a
mic fix. This time I had some ideas of what I wanted (being
a control freak
when it comes to TONE) but also wanted to freefall a little and
let DJ take
more of a hand in helping me to pick and choose. So I called
him up from Oz
and we chatted, and I played through a bunch of my mics run through
my
little Princeton and we talked some more about what I liked and
what I
didn't like.
I just received my latest order and am extremely happy with the
job. Dennis
has made me a custom triple chromed 707a, with a ten detent volume
control,
reattachment of the serial plate, groovey metallic red cloth behind
the
grill and it'll take a guitar jack into a switchcraft connector.
I handed
the tone over to DJ on this one and asked him to cherry pick an
element that
would be in the same ballpark as my original 707a. Great choice!
The element is very similar to the old mic - big bass response,
lots of mid range
fruitiness and the perfect match for my Clark Pro. It's
a white label CR
this time - and I'm one seriously happy camper.
In addition to that, I had a jones on for something outside the
Shure/Astatic tradition, so asked DJ to pick me a hot element
Electrovoice
630. I requested that DJ clean up the gooseneck and modify
it to take a
guitar jack into a Switchcraft connector - and he really delivered.
Fantastic craftsmanship and really a nice, sweet element on this
puppy.
Astonishing (!) bass response and a slightly different kind of
nasty from
the Shure elements. Plus a mic that is very responsive to cupping
and that
will clean right up and is receptive enough to sing vocals through
with
better clarity than a dirty Shure element. It straddles
the vocal quality
between a bullet mic and a proper vocal mic - still dirty and
radio-despatcher-esque, but not so muddy that the audience goes,
"WTF?"
I've tried both these mics out on my tweed Princeton and tweed
Super, and on my main gigging amp, the Clark Pro. I'm totally
knocked out by the build
quality and Dennis' impeccable good taste in choosing elements
that float my
boat.
There is absolutely no question about it. DJ is the guy I'll
go to in future
for mics and elements - the man is a Tone-cold genius.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to convince my the Minister
for Home
Affairs (my better half) that I need a Turner Hi-Z dynamic mic
or the world
will end.

Not much has been happening with the band, but this weekend we
played out
twice and the gear performed great. I have headroom to spare
to better
compete with the guitar player and drummer, I love the tone I'm
getting and
not a hint of feedback on either gig. On Friday we played
inside (the room
was tile floor, cinder block and acoustic tile ceiling) and today
was
outside. Both times the results were great. I could play lightly
and hear
myself with the mic volume dialed back for rhythm and then turn
up for
solos. After not being able to hear myself for so long this
is a welcome
change.
Thanks for your expertise with the mic and the advice such as
the Kinder
AFB+ and the 2x4 under the front of the amp. And being wireless
is so nice
to be able to walk out in the audience and hear what the harp
sounds like.
Don't know if it shows but I am re-energized after these two gigs

The Aiwa came in the mail yesterday just as we were leaving to go
to the
Blues Fest. I cannot believe the beautiful cleanup you did
w/this mic! It
looks in mint, rarely used condition. When I bought it at
the yard sale for
only a quarter and beat up, it looked as if somebody threw it away
a long
time ago. I never thought it would look so good. Besides
the wonderful job you did on this mic, the best thing about it was
its tone. Great bottom end and a distortion and overdrive
that I love. Despite being 14, I can get a great cup
around the mic and it actually feels a lot better in my hands than
the EV 638 mic (my first and only mic until now).
Also, I want to thank you for completing this mic earlier than usual.
As
soon as I can get my Jr. tubed for the crystal, this mic will be
my one and
only mic for playing out and practicing.
Your customer service is the best and it's hard not to repeat what
all the
wonderful reviews say about your work. Thanks for being a
great guy and
thanks for the wonderful work on the mic!

Hey Dennis! Man, 'dat dude honks so fine!!! Thru an old Bassman

Thanks D-Tone! Tried the Chrome out last night. Sounds great but
it's Hot,

too much

Set the
Bassman at level 4 normal and that mic cooked, cooked , cooked.

Yo Dennis! I was standing in my driveway Saturday when the postman
pulled up with "the package" I played thru it at the
gig Sat. nite and thought I might
wear it out. Loved the sound - a good clean tone but also real
"ballsy" -
great element you picked! Also played a gig on Sunday where things
weren't
as noisy and really got a really good feel for it. I reeallly
like it!
Haven't played it thru the Bassman yet, been using my 61 Ampeg.
Nice paint
job, the logo's a little hard to see but I ain't complainin'.
Great job!!!!!
You're the best!
and - 06/23/06
I LOVE the mic - just the tone I've been looking for. HOW DID
YOU KNOW? Not
too harsh unless you push it, real smooth and clean sound! I used
it at a
blues gig Wed. night and had several musicians comment on how
nice it
sounds. Still haven't used it thru the Bassman, but I'm gonna
try it out
tonight. Thanks, Dennis!

Just a note to let you know that the Purple Turner is now the
mic of choice.
I have gotten the Harp King pretty much in the groove with the
mic (little
tweaks in different rooms). The rig will hang in there with whatever
volume
level the lead player and bass player seem to be in the mood for
and it can
make them cringe if I feel the need to make a point. I want to
let you know
how much I appreciate your dedication to making it work. It says
a lot about
your ethics and values that you would take the time to make a
novice player
from central Il just as happy as a name player from one of the
coasts.
THANK YOU!

Dr Mikenstein,
You have built my dream mic. I have 9 or 10 custom harp mics in
my
collection but the Chrome Turner with the vintage Shure mag is
the one with
the 360 degree sweet spot. It is loud without feeding back, it
growls when
you get it mad, and is phat and sweet when you rub it's little
volume
control.
I've used it on 6 gigs since I got it and every time, without
fail, someone
will introduce themselves as a harp player and ask "what
mic are you using?"
They describe the sound as "nasty and big." I had one
guy come up last
week and say, "`I'm not a harp player but I've been listening
to blues for a
long time and you've got that old time sound coming out of that
mic
tonight."
My only problem is (as I continue to send you my mics to build
and rebuild)
what are you going to do for an encore?

Just a note to say thanks so much for the mic! Like many
long time

amps,
pedals, and other assorted gizmos of every description.
I have to say the
Custom mic that you built for me is the best money I've EVER spent
on a
piece of equipment!
I have gigged with this mic and spent hours playing with it at
home through
a '58 Gibson GA-20 and '59 reissue Bassman. Sound is AWESOME,
exactly what I was looking for! Smooth, warm, distinct, without
that harsh mid range boost or tinniness in the high end. The
look and feel are incredible! The v/c is the best I've ever tried
(I've tried many!)
Many thanks for this one of a kind Gem!...and for being an honest

After spending some time getting used to the mike and amp, finding
the
"sweet spot" in dialing in the Bassman RI, analog delay,
and mike volume, it
all came together last night at the gig. After a nearly 10 year
quest for
tone, I can finally say that I have found the sound I've been
searching for.

you've
provided. It was worth every penny!

Okay, here's the "sound check": Simply said, it's great!
Great "humph" and
very nice bottom. "Real" ceramic sound. It matches very,
very nicely with a
Masco head I got last December from Skip Simmons. Aside
of the ergonomics of this mic, which I quite liked after seeing
it, the element is very close to the grille and therefore, to
the mouth. I own quite a few mics (I am
thinning my collection) and this one is definitely a keeper. Thanks
for
selecting this nice element. It has found a good home ;o

The gear arrived this afternoon. The mic is absolutely unbelievable.
As soon as I played one note I could tell that I should have met
you 30 years ago! Well, as they say in the music business
.timing
is everything. I also get a tremendous amount more volume out
of my amps. I tried it first through a 1968 Premier amp;
then through my ol standby - my Fender Twin Reverb. Its
amazing how loud I could crank this puppy. Never again will
I have to suffer the volume egos of guitarists! Seriously,
the mic is to freakin die for. I will recommend you
ever chance I get.

If you sing, play harmonica or have any use whatsoever for a microphone
then you owe it to yourself to get in touch with Mr. Microphone;
a.k.a. Dennis Oellig, of DJs Custom Electronics.
Sure, there are many brand named microphones available to you
that you might just think will work as well as anything youd
ever need. As a Blues harp player of 35 years, I have used
a Shure Green Bullet mic for the past 15 years or so. I
have been convinced that it was the best mic I would ever use.
Boy was I wrong! I had the good fortune of learning about Mr.
Microphone from a fellow harp player who gave me his website address.
From the first e-mail reply I received from Dennis, I knew this
was the guy with whom I wanted to work on developing a mic just
for me.
You see, you dont just buy a microphone from
DJs. You enter into a relationship from which a process
develops. Dennis is inquisitive and truly wants to learn
from his clients just what they are looking for in a microphone.
I opted to send him a copy of my latest CD to help him better
understand my style of playing. The man knows exactly
what hes doing and once you get through the hard part; knowing
exactly what you want, he will build you the microphone of your
dreams. And to top it off, his prices are very reasonable.
So do yourself a favor. Stop and reassess the gear that youre
using now and get in touch with DJs Custom Electronics TODAY!
If you think you sound good now, just wait and see how much
better you will sound with your own Custom made microphone!

(from a post on Harp-L..."Mojo at SPAH")
Among the great people I met for the first time was Dennis Oellig,
sometimes called Mr. Microphone. What an
absolutely great guy! He and Dennis
Gruenling held a mic/amp seminar where they demonstrated different
mics with different elements in a range of about 7 or 8 vintage
and reissue tube
amps. It was definitely The Dennis and Dennis Show.
Got some great tips on mic grip and on how to go about dialing
in an amp for best tone in any
given situation.
Later I got to know Dennis O. and his wife and we seemed to connect
on a good level. But I was absolutely stunned when he asked
me on Saturday
night to sign his autograph guitar. Looking it over, there were
signatures from the likes of Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Wilson,
Rick Estrin and many, Many, MANY other heavy weights of blues.
I said, Dennis, you ~do~ realize that Im ~nobody~,
right? He laughed
Yeah, but someday you ~could~
be. I laughed too, but realized it was deeper than that
and felt extremely honored to put my Mojo Red mark
on his guitar. Thanks Dennis!

My mic came in today. Man it's hot! The wife and daughter
thinks it's pretty and so do I, but I have never had a harp play
so loud through my little 30 watt Peavey amp without a lot of
feedback. I can't believe the head room I have. The
next time my bass and guitar playing buds turn up, I don't think
that I will have a problem hearing my harp. I am a
stained glass artist and a watercolor artist and really appreciate
the great craftsmanship. Being a sound engineer I'm
amazed at the difference between the element in my CAD 50 bullet
and your Shure bullet. Great tone without a lot of
tweaking with it. In the near future I will either get an other
custom or have you rework my CAD 50 JT-30 mic for me, maybe with
some flames and a vintage element of some kind.

Since I have joined the Wyze Gyze, I feel that I really turned
a big
direction in improving my sound due to the tweaking of my equipment.
Whaling Dale from the Gators was very helpful in tips for tubing
down my
amps and thus fattening up my tone. But, perhaps just as important,
is the
contact that he gave me in Kansas City. Dale introduced me to
Dennis
Oellig, who is a miracle worker on harp microphones. Dennis' other
name is
Mr. Microphone. I have other players in Detroit onto Dennis, including
Pasco from Delta Drive and Dr. Bob. His custom work is remarkable
and very reasonable.
While attending a few DBS events, including the one that we hosted

problems as they tried to get some volume on their harp mics.
PLEASE let them know that Mr.Microphone can help them. They will

There is a reason why they call it La La land. Maybe it's the
lack of real
seasonal changes. Or what they consider drinking water. Or the
ever so
famous air pollution. I came home everyday at noon to connect
with the
mail-schmoe." Any packages?", I'd ask. "Not today",
the schmoe would reply. Everyday since Friday the 13th. I
went to the Post Office yesterday evening and asked them to check
if I had any packages and sure enough there it was. It was
there for 7 days. What an incredible job you've done. You
gave it soul. The color is exactly what I had in mind. The finishing
is beautiful. And the sound is truly remarkable. For such a small
mic it kicks a great big sound. Now I understand why you didn't
want to hype it to me-the "element" of surprise. A
little mystery. A little drama. And finally, a whole lot of smile. The
Fin, the 605, the Flamer, and now the Rystl. You really are the
master blaster. Thanks for your help in my blues journey!

The Astatic sounds great as is....but I'll tell you that of the
mics that
I've had the pleasure of buying/modifying through you the one
that seems to
work best for my amps, tone and volume is the bluesblaster into
which you
put a ceramic cartridge. Oh....they're all wonderful tools/toys
to have
available, though. I've never been so well-equipped.
The way it's sort of playing out is that the Astatic (new black
version)
with the magnetic cartridge is sort of on one end of the tone
continuum, to
my ear: it's got a nice bottom, warm, but not so much bite. The
older
Astatic that I sent to you for mod, into which you put a dynamic
element,
has the coolest hot, sharp, biting tone I could want. Reminds
me a lot of
really hard-hitting, hot tone like Jimmy Roger's tune "Rattlesnake",
where
Little Walter's harp is so hot. However....as much as I like that
tone, I
don't want to reach for that on every tune. The Slim-X tone is
similarly
brash and in your face--I love the sound, and will break it out
every now
and then when I want to reach for that wall of hot tone thing.
The Astatic
that is coming back to you for a non-recessed volume control has
a wonderful
warmth and isn't quite as hot and biting as either the dynamic-equipped
Astatic or the Slim-X. Nice warmth...

Dennis, the mic is great! Our Friday gig was cancelled however
we did the
Saturday night party and I used the green bullet all night. Usually
I
switch mics a few times throughout a show but Saturday I just
kept wanting
to play the green bullet, so I just stayed with it. I got a lot
of decked
out doctors going on the dance floor with sweet raunchy tones
made possible
by that mic.
The volume knob worked well, it has a good feel, and a good control
range
taper. I like the center detent as an added reference point. Also
the mic
and mic connector (custom adapter) worked well with the wireless

The newer Astatic sounds wonderful! I alternated between my Hohner
Bluesblaster (Astatic with designer label) and the modified mic
and, geez,
the difference is really noticeable. A much warmer, fuller, beefier,
chewy
sound--it makes the Bluesblaster sound thin by comparison. Very
cool.... I'm
going to have much fun with this, I can tell. Already looking
forward to
talking to guys at gigs who say, "Wow...that mic's different
than mine at
home...." and I'll tell 'em about the special mod I had done

Hey you Tonemonster....
I've got blisters on my lips from playing through this chrome
Turner- the
most beautiful looking and sounding mic I could have imagined.
You are so
right on! The hold is like nothing else. The volume control is
so smooth.
Dennis, thank you so very much.
and...
Doc. Since getting my chromie I've been playing more. Learning
more about
developing tone and what a great fat sound to help me learn with.
You are the master blaster Dennis. Thank You once again

I bought a Microvox Microphone & Power Supply System from
Dennis Oellig, "Mr. Microphone", in Kansas City. Besides
it being a great little
microphone for Blues Harmonica, I mounted it on a tie clasp to
the top of my
t-shirt right under my chin, and it also sounds great for a clean
sound when
I perform Bluegrass & Gospel music on the harmonica.
I do have to raise the
volume more than if I were to hold the microphone in my hand.
Now, I don't
have to share a microphone on stage at the Bluegrass festivals,
and worry
about getting hit in the head by the banjo and guitar necks. I
would also
like to add to the fact that this Microvox Microphone & Power
Supply System makes a great way to hook up to a wireless system
and have the freedom of running around on stage and into the crowds
for my concert performances.

Whoooooooooie...............,great man...f#~7%$* great.
Yeah it looks really good, thanx man a very good job, great sparkle
finish!
But the tone man, that's something! Yeah a keeper as you
said! I compared
it with my 60's Astatic crystal, wich has a little more bite...I
don't know
how to say this, but in my Vickie I've got a 12ay7 in the first
gain stage
like in the fifties and with the crystal I can put the volume
up to 5, which
sounds good and loud!.
But this little ..........sparkle cutie is just pregnant with
tone ...!!
Man .....a fat sound, a little darker than the crystal I would
say, but the
good thing is I can put the volume up to 9 that's #%$^~+ loud
man! It
honks, jumps, and screams with a sound fatter than the butchers
dog hahaha,
wow .....da O, fantastic yeah fantastic.
Wow da O, it was a real pleasure to do business with you. Yeah
and I'll say
it again.... you're a good writer too, hahaha.

Well the finial verdicts on the mics are in. They're both honkers
and I'm
dam happy with 'em. The vintage bullet cuts right through
the mix and has a sound as thick as molasses and as sweet as honey.
On the other hand, the JT30 crystal slices cleanly through
screaming guitars like a sharp straight razor cuts to the bone.
Both microphones are exciting instruments in there own right.
Thanks man. You did a great job and I've recommended your services
to a few other respectable harp players. Your mics are the
real deal. Anyway bro, I just wanted to say hello and thanks
again!

Wow man what a mic!!! First is darn good looking!!!!! I've just
tried it
downstairs in my rehearsal room! The attack is incredible man, big
fat
crunchy power tone! I am really satisfied! Anyway this was my very
first
impression. I'll use it on saturday night's gig and then let you
know how
it worked once having used it for real ok. I know it'll be great
though!
I'm gonna spread the news with my European harpists mate Dennis!!!
And
06/15/03
Used the mic at last night's gig here in Milano. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm
really knocked out by the attack man! So powerful crunchy soulful!
Really
great Dennis!

Just thought you might like to hear my opinion of the Custom Turner
you
built for me. I've played through JT-30's, both vintage
and fairly new
ones, ceramics and crystals. Shure 520's vintage, Shure
stick mics, vintage
green bullets and fairly new ones...none come close to what you
built for
me!
Test drove my porsche yesterday for a good 3 hours , the new
skins on this
rig just blew me away . Tight responsive, no dropped notes
, bottom end
awesome, mids kickin'. Just the right amount of bite and
crunch. Your
approach to service, the countless e-mails, the "loaner"
(mic), resulted in
the finest mic that has been my pleasure to blow through. The
tone is
incredible!!!!
Well, you might want to change your e-mail address from mrmic
to
drtonemeister, 'cause I doubt there is anyone who cares as much
and has the
technical knowledge you do . That's it for now Djbro.
As always take good
care. On the proverbial rebound....

My purple mic had a bad element and you hand selected and installed
one matched for my Concert. It is so well matched that I
hardly use anything else. Anyway, last night I went to Black
Eyed Sally's open jam in Hartford, carrying my newly moded ASTATIC
200-S. Before we played, I showed it to two other players.
They couldn't believe the mic wasn't originally manufactured
with volume control and a 1/4 inch jack. The mods were seemless.
We all couldn't believe how nice it looked.
Then we got up to play. The first guy was afraid to use
it because I said it was so hot. When I was called up, I
joined my friend who also sings and blows harp. We usually
trade harp solos, or play together. Well, he got hold of
it and wouldn't let go. He literally carried on a solo forever
because he liked the tone so much.

Well now....I'm frickin' speechless. What an incredible beauty
and top
quality little machine it is, and (drum roll...) sounds absolutely
incredible with my main workin' amps! That element was a favorite
for me,
but never sounded this good in any of the mics I put it in (about
4). I
don't know how you do it, but don't demystify it for me as I need
heros
these days.
Best of all, it works better than anything I've got (which is
a minor
****load of CM's CRs, R5, biscuit, various old JT30's, 440, etc.).
.....(the) T-shirt is real cool (wearing it at a big gig tomorrow
and
blowing that red thang), and thanks for that on-off too! Those
things are
incredible, don't people know about them? I've never heard of
them until
you came up with the first one for me.

Thanks very much for the safe delivery of the microphone. Terrific
finish
and quality. I gigged it through a Fender Champ (linked to a PA)
on Saturday
and it sounded great ! I've been using a JT 30 for some time so
the tone
adjustment was a little different but far more of the sound I
like - I'm
very, very pleased. Keep up the great work - I'll be recommending
you to
friends not just for sound and build quality but for quality of
service.
Tess and I love the tee shirts - I'll email a few pics from home.
many thanks again Dennis

Weellll, the good news first - the cable is awesome - wow, what
a
difference - freedom! :)
Really, it was a problem - once I was plugged in, that was "it"
unless I
could flag down a sound dude and get them to mute me, or risk
blowing
speakers... so the grounded cable was a big hit - everyone was
suitably
impressed with it. The silence on unplugging was just... awesome!

Hey Doc, after two weekends of playing the chromie somewhere besides
my living room, I have to say it has monster tone! It is
different than the red one in that it still has great bass response
like the red one does but it also has a harder edge. I don't
want to say brighter because that's not it. Maybe clearer
would be a better way to describe it. The red one has a
more muffled type tone and the chrome has more cut without sacrificing
bottom end. Suffice it to say, I CAN'T PUT IT DOWN!

09/29/02-Wow Dennis! What a beauty! Sounds very vintage
and super cool. I played for a while yesterday when I could crank
it up and was very impressed by the tone through my tweed and
twin. Even sang through it! The blue with red flame paint
job is gorgeous! My hat is off to you and its Christmas

Yo Dennis...Were your ears burning and your head all swelled up
last week? ...Reason I ask, I ran into Naz from Elliot & The

are!...It was a Mr. Microphone love fest.

This mic is the bomb! It sounds like you dug it up out of a potato
field in Mississippi, and I mean that in the kindest way. How
do you get your harp to sound like Mississippi?...play it into
one of Mr. Microphone's bad wamma jammas! I can't wait to
unleash this thing in a bar full of music freaks. Not only
has the thing got juice, it also brings out all the details in
my playing. How'd you do that Dennis?

Has Done Arrived!! I plugged it and..... It wails! I
did an A--B test with my other mic, and it's real close. You are
a genius. It's got almost the same response as mine, I can play
a note a bit soft and it's not as distorted, and then I play with
full force and it honks. Well Done Man. I wouldn't touch a thing.
Thanks Again. I can finally rest easy knowing that I have two
awesome Mics And someone to repair them when they're down)
P.S. Cool T Shirt : )

It is with great pleasure that I received my order.
Thank you very much for the T-shirt and the mouse pad, fantastic.
Everything is perfect; the tubes, the cables and the microphone
it was worth waiting for. I am going to give your business cards
to all of the harmonica players and I will tell them: have
confidence that Dennis will make you a microphone for the sound
you desire, and it will work just like he says with the proper
amplification for this style of music.

Had to drop a line to say thanks for helping to make last night's
gig one of the best ever for me. The Mighty Mike and a Custom
harp from Bob Meehan combined to rock the joint a la Kim Wilson..
Even the guitar player on my left noticed my jewel like mike.
Hey Man is that new? It takes a lot to get a reaction out of that
guitar picker. I played with a pick up band which contained a
session bass player with credits as long as my arm and a guitar
player ex of Alice Cooper playing tasty blues and blues rock.
Definitely cloud nine and our mike helped me lead the band. I'm
beat but ecstatic.
Thanks again. Good thing I didn't send it back [
you must be joking.]

"The Custom Turner is amazing! It honks! No
doubt a fabulous mic! I used it on a couple of grinds and a jump
tune that we did last night and it sounded great. Lots of head
room with it and I realy like that style of volume pot. The sound
is very unique. Pretty sharp of you to develop that model into
the bullet style. It was done so precisely, that I coulen't figure
out which mic it had started out as at first. Great volume pot,
too. I like the 'graded' feel from 1 to 11, it eliminates looking
down after a vocal to see where you're set. All, in all, a tremendous
piece of work, my friend. The cord is another nice feature, almost
looks 'military' it's so strong. I will have to recommend you
to all those with 'bullet' needs. You have got to be the 'Guru

is that thing? What a monster! What's in it? What can I tell people

might love it, but honestly I'm not sure yet. Either way, you're

"I got the mics from you today. Tried them
out -- they sound great. I'm very pleased. I've been playing all
my mics through my big amps. I like the ones with on-off switches
best now. They are wide open. The brown one and chrome one kick
***. I'm sending you three other mics to remove the pots and add
on-off switches. The 11 point control on the Turner is nice and
I don't have a problem with my palms turning it like I have with
my JT30's. Thanks and I'd appreciate any advice and will use your
service in the future". And...
"Hey, Dennis,... you do a great job -- quality
work and trustworthy service, a pleasure to deal with." And...
"Mr. Mic, I got the box o' mics in the mail. They all look
good and sound good. I like the Turner -- it sounds great. I'm

"The Turner spent two days sleeping in the Downers Grove
post office and then finally found its way to my front door. I
played through it for a while last night with various different
amps. It does what I asked for. Different sound, good bite and
response, cleanish but fat. All that and good looks, too."
And...
"Yes this mic is definitely a keeper. It's the hottest mic
I own! I know you know, the whole/tone sound thing for harp is
a very elusive beast. Thank you for your great service and attention
to detail. Much appreciated." And...
"Hi, Dennis, good to hear from you. All's cool here and
the mic is great, but I don't use it with the Maestro. It kills
with my Sonny Jr., though. I recently scored a 1960 Premier 120
and it sounds great through that, too.... Last night I had it
going through the SJ running a 2x8 speaker extension and also
driving the Valco (the SJ is so versatile) and it sounded shockingly
good. Dogs were howlin' all over the neighborhood!" --
Tom "Mudharp" Albanese

"Hey! If anything was great today, it was opening
my front door and seeing a little box waiting. Mr. Mic, you have
done it again. A very, very happy Mojoman is now and forever going
to be playing into this microphone! Tonight, I was at a gig with

"As to the microphone, it's gorgeous and sounds terrific!
You do one hell of a job! I was surprised by the matching grill
for sure. It seems like I could turn this thing up without the
usual feedback. Thank you again for this work of art.
"I tried out the new mic with my band tonight. Everyone
was really impressed (the drummer is an artist and car painter
so he was impressed). I played through a Shure 58 miked Pignose!
And it was huge.... I bet everybody that gets one of your mics
is excited about them."
David Blassingame

"Dennis, they're all home, cozy and warm now. I've been
playing them all for a few hours. Thought I'd stop and give the
Bassman a break and let you know what's up.
"They're perfect! As you know, they were my favorites. I
was always worried I'd lose the tone of the elements if I messed
with the mics. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Or should I
say output. They sound like they did before they left, tone wise,
but they are certainly a lot stronger now. Much better volume.
I guess this is the first time those elements actually got real
juice in years. Amazing what a new connection and solder can do!
It's so nice not having to deal with all that mic cord. The screw
on connector is the only thing I ever liked about the JT-30. Now
I have the best of both worlds. I am one really happy camper.
I'm very happy with the Turner BX. Very nice job. I appreciate
all you've done.
"So to sum this up, Dennis... You did a fantasic job. You
really are a true 'mic guru'. I've now got great sounding mics
and a new friend. Who could ask for more than that! I can't wait
to send those Shure brown bullets to you."
